What You Don't Know Will Hurt You!

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth... And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light (Genesis 1:1 & 3).

In a single sentence, God intersects time, space, and matter.

Then, He says, "Let there be light" (Genesis 1:3) God speaks, commands light to come into existence, and it does... How fascinating!

Here at enLight Ministries, we're all about light. However, light is more than something you can perceive with your senses; light represents revelation. The name of our ministry is "enLight Ministries" because the word "enlighten" functions as a command, a verb, and a state of being.

To "enlighten [someone] comes from the metaphor that ignorance is a state of being 'in the dark,' and that knowledge is illuminating."

Walking in the light means operating in a realm of revelation, insight - discovery. It means being empowered by knowledge, and allowing it to edify you. When God spoke the words, "Let there be light," He illuminated the earth, opening the gateway to understanding for all those willing to learn!

Contrary to popular belief, what you don't know will hurt you because ignorance festers in a state of darkness. Have you ever tried to look for something in the dark? It's hopeless! Unless you turn on a light, you risk injuring yourself (and looking like a fool!) because darkness hinders progress; darkness creates confusion.

When you profess the words, "Let there be light" over your life, you give God permission to expose the dark, hidden parts of you that are longing for illumination.

Have you considered that what you may be looking for is right in front of you? Perhaps you just can't see it yet...

Many times, we're blinded to things God is trying to show us. Whether they be concerning your purpose, a big decision you need to make, or how to solve a problem you may be facing, God can open your eyes to the things that need to be seen. He can enlighten you.

If you need your eyes to be opened, I encourage you to say this prayer aloud:

God, I thank you that you are the Light that can illuminate my life. I ask that you would open my eyes to whatever you're trying to show me. Please help me clearly see all that you have for me, and help me to walk in the dimension of revelation you're eagerly wanting me to walk in.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
